How It's Made

Ponchos are either handwoven on wide looms and then cut and stitched to shape, or hand-knitted by skilled knitters using thick pashmina yarn and traditional Nepali cable and ribbing patterns. Wraps and capes are typically woven as large rectangular or triangular pieces with finished edges. Buttons, clasps, and toggles are added by hand. Each piece is washed, blocked to shape, and steam-finished.
