Blanket weaving requires larger looms and more complex warp setups than shawl production. The yarn is doubled or tripled for greater weight and warmth. Weaving a single blanket takes 2-3 days for an experienced weaver. After weaving, blankets undergo brushing to raise the nap (creating that soft, fuzzy surface), washing in cold water, and careful pressing. Some blankets receive hand-embroidered borders or monogramming.
